Optics aren't technically attached, just sitting on top of the LED's. Found optic holders at LEDsupply that work GREAT for our applications and worked with the optics I already purchased. I used the dimmable driver, these pictures were taken at 0.8A. I can drive the LED's up to 1.3 with the driver, and they are rated for 1.5, so I can always go brighter if needed. So, next question is, where is that PAR meter so we can compare

As you requested..... Still not the final configuration. I ran out of time to clean up some solder joints so I could put the optics on, but here is the fixture over my 45G with my custom LED hanging fixture (Frankie, too bad he won't just stand still, I even offered him a dollar......)

NICE! how many watts is it drawing?

Didn't hook it up to the kill-a-watt meter, but should be right about 100 watts. The comparison picture is a 150W MH, and 4 24W T5 bulbs. Next dilemna is whether to mount the fixture from the cieling or the wall.

That is a heck of a reach if you are dropping them from the ceiling.

NICE! how many watts is it drawing?

Ok, connected to the kill-a-watt meter. Everything at max brightness is right at 102 watts. I ran it on my table for about 30 minutes at max output, and the heatsink is barely warm to the touch with a dead silent fan mounted on the back.

Ok, as you might have read, the camera takes absolutely horrible pictures of LED's. This is nowhere near as blue as it looks.

I've been trying to calculate how much LED power does the job for my rebuild since my ultimate goal is lotsa SPSs. Found another thread which makes a table I can use as a reference but now I'm nervous that if I make the tank uniformly bright I'm going to burn out other stuff in there. My Gigas is soooo happy now I'm nervous about quadrupling the amount of light. Are my nerves justified and if so whadda I do?
