Anyone know a source locally for 55 gallon drum barrels? Or have an extra laying around they want to sell? I want to use one for RO/DI. I Found a place in Waldorf but I want to save myself a trip @ $3.50 a gallon for gas if I can. Can get rain barrels locally but at 100 bucks there is a MUCH cheaper way...
I have 3 extra ones that I bought and never ended up using. They still have some of the original liquid inside (soy sauce). They are blue 55 gallon white containers. I will sell them for $20 each.
I never got around to cleaning them. I bought them last Fall, but ended up moving before I cleaned them. I did do some research and apparently most people clean them with a pressure washer or mix a small amount of bleach with water. They then let the water sit in the drum for several days and rinse out several times before using.
is there any interest in more drums? last time i picked up about 35 drums. the sizes if i recall they were 55, 33, and 12 or 14. I think i will be able to pick up either this or next weekend. If there is enough to get them I can make the run. If i recall after getting them and adding a cpl of bucks for fuel i was able to sell them for like 20 for 55g, the 33's were 15 and the 12's were 10.
The drums will have had soda syrup, and cleaning is nothing more than rincing them well. I did mine in about 15 mins. I have one clean tho. they smell really nice if you like mtn dew or dr pepper.
