  • Enough to make you sick...

I ran across this article today and thought I'd share it. Stunning and very sad...

More the reason to take good care of what we have now, there may not be any available for the next generation unless we do...
    Never too old to learn,

This is what my daughter has been researching in Belize. Another big factor is the oiling industry. Belize's government is talking about creating an oil drilling site that is only miles from the coral reef of Ambergris. The locals are outraged because they know that the majority of their industry comes from vacationers coming to dive. Even though they have petitioned and had the signatures required to veto this, the government overrides it. That is what happens with third world government. It's all about the money and not preserving our environment.

It's funny... we claim to be the most intelligent species on the planet yet we are the only species capable of destroying it and seem hell bent on accomplishing that just to make a $.

With or without mankind on this planet the climate has changed many times and it will again. And, as long as there has been life of any kind on the earth all spieces have waxed and waned with a very few of them evolving but the vast majority going extinct.

Cynthia is right most third world countries are more concerned about making money than preserving the environment. They need money to keep their people from dying of Maleria, Deptheria, Ebola, as well as thirst and hunger from drought of floods.

As far as the drilling industry goes the wells we have the most problems with are the deepwater wells. We force the Oil industry to move into deeper and deeper water and then complain when something goes wrong.

Not just third-world countries. Humans are generally destructive and self-serving. Those that do cry foul are quickly viewed as a radical impediment.
